Senior Fraud Prevention | Monday, July 31st at 2:00 p.m.
Financial scams targeting seniors have become so prevalent that they’re now considered “the crime of the 21st century.” Why? Because seniors are thought to have a significant amount of money sitting in their accounts. Far too many older adults are being financially exploited by strangers over the telephone, through the mail, and increasingly, online.
Financial scams also often go unreported because the victims are afraid the perpetrator may retaliate, the victims are embarrassed that they have been scammed, or simply because victims are unsure about how to report the incident. Worse yet, some people do not even realize they have been the victims of fraud. Come to learn about the latest scams happening today and how to protect yourself from becoming a victim of fraud. Registration Required.
